Editorial Policy

Apex & Armorcovers motorcycle safety gear, which is a your-money-or-your-life topic: get it wrong and a reader can get hurt. That raises the bar. These are the standards we hold every page to, and the ones we’d want a reader to hold us to.

Accuracy and sourcing

• Every safety, certification or statistical claim links to a primary or authoritative source — NHTSA, the federal helmet standard, the UNECE regulation, the Snell Foundation, or an independent lab (MotoCAP, SHARP).
• Product specifications and certifications are read from the manufacturer or retailer listing on a dated visit, and that date is shown on the page.
• Where a maker doesn’t publish a figure, we say “check current listing” rather than guess. A blank is never filled with a number we can’t support.

No fabrication, ever

• No invented reviews, testimonials, star ratings, or before-and-after photos. There are none on this site.
• No claim of hands-on crash testing, owned test units, or a lab we don’t have. We read certifications and specs; we say exactly that.
• No fabricated author credentials or “expert panel.” Our author is a genuine enthusiast, framed honestly.
• No fabricated prices. Prices render only from the live retailer feed, dated, or the page says “check price.”

Independence from commission

We earn affiliate commissions and disclose them everywhere (see our affiliate disclosure). The reasoning behind a recommendation is identical whether a link earns us anything or not. When a cheaper product is the better buy, it’s our pick. We accept no payment for placement or for a favorable verdict, and we don’t let a higher commission move a product up a list.

Corrections

We get things wrong sometimes, and gear gets revised. When a reader flags a factual error or an out-of-date spec, we check it against the source and, if they’re right, we fix it and note that we did. Spot something? Tell us.

Updates

Buying guides are re-checked and re-dated at least every six months, and sooner when a certification standard changes or a product is discontinued. Every guide shows a “last updated” date so you can see how fresh it is. Our full method is on the methodology page.
